N-55 VAWT

Historically a crop producing agriculture farm focusing on wheat and potato production, this substantial UK family farm decided to expand into poultry farming with the addition of two 50,000 bird houses.

Large climate controlled barns are used to the store potatoes and chickens. This creates a high energy demand on site and the farm is very conscious of the escalating cost of energy in the UK. As a result, the Farm committed to an off-grid solution which will produce the entirety of the farms energy requirement independently. To achieve this goal the farm started by installing a Ryse Energy N-55 VAWT in 2013.

The single N-55 turbine generates an annual saving of approximately £25-30,000 in electricity costs. The client’s main motivation, however, was not based on present energy costs but resulted from his substantial concern about the increasing price of energy which he witnessed over the previous 5 years
