Our Sustainable Resilience Unit (SRU) is configured to maximize local power production using the available wind and solar resources, combined with energy storage to ensure power is available to suit the demand profile of the off-taker.

Being mobile, the SRU solutions can be deployed immediately at multiple sites with a capacity in the order of 75 kW per SRU. Monitoring will measure the generation and off-take of power so that detailed planning can access the viability of a permanent facility based on the demand and supply profile, if desired, and local staff can be employed for in-country training during SRU installation and commissioning for local operational support.

The Sustainable Resilience Units deliver electricity below the cost of diesel generated electricity in the majority of remote and rural locations and can be set up within hours, with no external plant required. The hybridization of small-scale wind, solar PV and energy storage provides a more resilient and reliable supply of power compared to solar PV and energy storage alone, as wind energy is available 24 hours a day, whilst solar PV has up to a 12-hour generation cycle, depending on the location. The combination of both resources is able to produce a more consistent supply of electricity, with the strengths of each resource balancing the system. As production from one resource dwindles, daily or seasonally, the other compensates for a greater consistency of energy production.

INTEGRATED WIND

SMALL WIND TURBINES

Ryse Energy small wind turbine units are integrated into the roof structure of the SRU containerized solution. The integration of small wind is cost-effective and allows for maximum energy generation outside of the solar cycle, which is often a limiting factor during deployment of traditional decentralized off-grid solutions.

PLUG & PLAY SOLAR PV

SOLAR PV & BATTERY STORAGE

Solar PV based on 168 panels of 370 W is deployed from within the container and integrated with the power generated from the wind, providing the maximum generation from the natural energy resources available at the location.  The wind/solar hybrid configuration optimizes production in the daily solar cycle and maximizes power generation on a 24-hour cycle.

Energy storage is installed within the SRU solution, with a capacity of 259 kWh, ensuring that the system is able to harvest the maximum energy available from the wind and solar resources over each 24-hour cycle and can utilized when required.

CHEAPER THAN
DIESEL

The use of diesel energy generation in remote locations is costly, both to the consumer and the environment. Utilizing small-scale wind, solar PV and energy storage, our solutions can be over 40% lower in costs, whilst reducing carbon emissions.

MORE RESILIENT THAN SOLAR ALONE

Provides consistent and reliable generation of hybrid solar PV and wind renewable energy technologies, maximizing power generation from the available natural energy resources.

MOBILE TO SERVE MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

Rapidly deployable and can be mobilized within hours for quick pick-up and deployment. The solution is also modular so capacity can be increased or decreased as and when required.

MOBILE TO PERMANENT PLAN FOR ENERGY ACCESS

Immediate deployment of SRU facilities provide fast-track power access. Based on real facility data obtained through online monitoring, optimal technology configurations for permanent power generation units can then be optimized.
