Project Overview

As one of Europe’s largest hatcheries of game birds, supplying some of the most prestigious shooting estates in Europe, Hy-Fly Game Hatcheries began their operations in 1963 and now specialist in partridge, mallard and pheasant, producing approximately 1.5 million eggs per week when at full capacity.

Hy-Fly were looking to offset the considerable energy demand required for heating their hatcheries and ensure their security of supply as their site has a restricted grid connection. Previously a diesel generator was utilized as their backup energy source when supply was not available until a Ryse Energy N-55 VAWT was installed in 2013. Dependent on the varying amount of diesel used by the backup generator, the savings to the site are between £35-45k GBP per annul.
