Small wind turbines

N-55 VAWT

A 55 kW vertical axis wind turbine engineered for urban, remote, and off-grid environments. Built for reliable performance in turbulent wind conditions with minimal noise and visual impact.

Core performance specs of the N-55 VAWT

The N-55 is a high-capacity vertical axis wind turbine designed for quiet, low-maintenance operation in complex wind environments. Its 55 kW output and omni-directional design make it ideal for urban, coastal, and off-grid sites where horizontal turbines aren’t practical.

Structural characteristics of the N-55 VAWT

With no need to face the wind and simplified mechanical systems, the N-55 excels in urban, coastal, and complex wind environments where traditional turbines fall short.

Blades

Delta shaped blade tips improve the wind turbine blade performance, similar to wing tips on modern aircraft. Detachable blade tips during transportation reduce the overall blade length, allowing the blade to fit in a standard shipping container, reducing the shipping costs for customers.

Fixed Pitch/Yaw

Rotor does not require sensors or motors to align the wind turbine with the wind, thus eliminating the need for complex control systems. The rotor can harness the wind from any direction, offering superior performance in turbulent and gusty wind conditions.

Work Platform

Built-in work basket and ladder allow servicing and maintenance to be performed easily and safely.

Anemometer

Wind speed sensor accurately tracks the behaviour of the wind in real time, in order to improve the turbine’s performance and safety.

Structure

Tripod tower & screw-pile foundation for increased stability and environmentally friendly, concrete-free foundations.

Containerised Generation & Control

Majority of major components at ground level, simplifying installation, operation and maintenance. Control system regulates rotor speed during high winds and does not require blade pitch control, simplifying the mechanical control requirements.
