The Wareing Buildings is a specialist family-owned firm with a heritage stretching back 100 years. The fourthgeneration family farm has a multi-million-pound turnover and employs a team of 70 members of staff at its new purpose-built 10-acre production site. They enquired about the suitability of a renewable energy generation system at their UK site given their high energy consumption and desire to be more
environmentally friendly.

Local aviation constraints meant that wind turbine deployment would not be possible and after a study of the site and its potential energy resource, Ryse installed a 250 kW ground-mounted solar PV array in May 2014. The system produces an annual energy generation of 211,612 kWh and generates an estimated carbon saving of 150,000 kg per year. This is enough to cover the entire energy usage on-site, allowing the client to reduce its operational costs as well as reducing the overall carbon footprint of the business.
